Community involvement

Our school values strong partnerships with our families and community. Parents and carers can get involved through our Parents and Citizens Association (P&C) or by volunteering at our school. Your time and support help make our school a better place for everyone.

Tomaree Public School Parents and Citizens Association (P&C)

The P&C are a friendly, inclusive group of people working together with school staff to improve the school experience for every child, beyond that which the NSW Department of Education already provides.  The P&C is a great way for parents and carers to build strong connections with the school, promote the interests of our school community, have a voice and help direct the future shape of our school.

The P&C provides fun school community events and helps raise funds for school resources and projects which benefit all students.

The P&C meet twice a term to support the school to determine the needs and aspirations of the school community, contribute to aspects of school planning and represent the parent community on panels. We are a voice for our school community.

P&C meetings are held on a Thursday in Week 4 and 8 of each term. Meetings start at 5.30pm and to support the involvement of school families, we provide options to attend in person or online. Our Projects!

The P&C’s fundraising efforts contribute to funding a range of whole school and activity focused projects each year. Over recent years this includes:

• Hall Audio upgrade and the purchase and installation of display wall panelling
• Purchase and installation of fans for the school hall
• Canteen upgrade of appliances including undercounter fridge, commercial dishwasher and electronic roller shutters
• Purchase of bag hooks utilised outside classrooms
• External PA speaker system
• Funding of resources for CAPA groups including drama, music and school band, StarStruck and Hunter Dance Festival
• Design and purchase for Sporting jerseys utilised for Rugby, Touch, Netball and Athletics.
• Donations to students representing Tomaree at State and National levels
• Basketball court refurbishment
• Significant funding towards school laptops for all students

Volunteer at our school

Get involved by volunteering

We are always looking for volunteers to assist with the fundraising events we run, help in the canteen and to put forward fresh ideas of new projects.  Volunteering is a great way to get involved in the school community, meet families and to find out more about what’s going on in the school!

Volunteer opportunities include:

• helping in the canteen
• getting involved in the P&C
• volunteering on sports days and other school events
